Caitlin's Dance Story

Dance studios are all around the world. There are so many of them it is too hard to count. But, there is this one studio in Mississippi, named Donna's Visual and Performing Arts Studio that a young girl Caitlin attends. In this story, I will explain to one what Caitlin does and what this studio tries to teach each and every one of their students.
At Donna's, Caitlin has many dance teachers. Her teachers are: Mrs. Donna, Mrs. Jenelle, and Ms. Priscilla. From these teachers she learns: Jazz, Tap, Ballet, Lyrical, and Contemporary. Caitlin absolutely loves to dance. It is her passion.
Caitlin is also on the competition company. This is where dancers have to audition and if he or she make it they are on the company. This person will be able to travel all over to different places, learn choreography from many famous dance teachers, and taking their own dances learned by their teachers and competing. This is where Caitlin's teachers have their ups and downs about dancers. Her teachers try to explain it over and over that, "If you dance with your heart you are the best dancer you can be." Caitlin's teachers do not want dancers in their company if they are only in it to win. "Nobody can win all the time." her dance teacher's say. When dancing with your heart on stage, it shows so much more, than if you are on stage just to win.
Caitlin attends these competitions every year, more than once a year. She enjoys is so much. After taking classes all day, known as convention, Caitlin gets ready to compete. She gets huge butterflies in her belly every time before going on stage, as if she has never been on the stage before. Her teachers sometimes think she is silly for getting so nervous! After a couple competitions go by, Caitlin starts to win with her solo. Of course she gets excited, but everyone would get excited when they win right? She started noticing how other dancers, not from her studio, were getting upset walking away when they did not win. To Caitlin, this was a suprise. "Why be sad?" Caitlin would ask herself . "It is just a trophy."
Some people only do certain things because they want to win. People sometimes forget about how great their talent is because they just want rewards in the end. But, this is the whole point of the story. Caitlin never cared about her trophy and nobody should. All Caitlin wants to ever do is get on that big stage and dance. She wants people to watch her do what she loves. Because like her teachers said, "If you dance with your heart you are the best dancer you can be."
